Valentines Day 2021: Lockdowns and Ecofriendly Gifts

Valentines Day 2021: Lockdowns and Ecofriendly Gifts

It's Valentines Day! Whether you are surprising your loved one, friend, family or choose to skip this holiday- it probably looks a bit different this year because of the lockdown. Therefore we have written a little guide to your ecofriendly Valentines 2021, spend in lockdown. Here at JUA June we love any excuse to spread the love, so Valentines Day is no different! However, with plastic wrapping paper, glitter cards and foil around flower bouquets, it is not exactly a good holiday for mother nature. These types of wrapping papers and packaging often cannot be recycled and therefore end up in landfill waste or the oceans. So, here is an alternative list in case you want to go a bit more sustainable this year.

1. Love Goes Through The Stomach

It might be an old saying- it still goes! Especially now with the restaurants being closed in lockdown, it is the perfect time to improve your cooking skills. Serve a delicious home cooked meal, make a heart shaped cake, or decorate some biscuits, the possibilities are endless. Make some extra for yourself to enjoy as well!

2. Plan a Staycation

Chances are you are fed up of staying at home already- but with little changes and attention to detail you can transform the atmosphere. Put some blankets, pillows and candles on the floor, prep your favourite snacks, add some fairy lights and plan the perfect romantic movie night.

3. Diamonds are forever

We all know that diamonds are a girls best friend, and when they are ethically sourced it's a win win.

4. Spa day at Home

There are many amazing beauty brands with sustainable, cruelty free and vegan products in waste free packaging. Get your favourite products, have a bath and a pamper and spa day. There are also many great recipes online to make your own fresh face masks, creative and better for the planet!

5. Sharing is caring

Make a donation in the name of your loved one to a charity this Valentines day. Whether its sponsoring an animal, supporting your local charity, planting a tree or adopting a wild animal- every little bit helps!
