April 22 marks Earth Day, an annual event celebrated around the world to demonstrate support for environmental protection and to raise awareness. This year's theme is Restore Our Earth and EARTHDAY.ORG will host a Live digital event. The global show will feature workshops, panel discussions, and special performances. There will also be information on natural processes, emerging green technologies, and innovative thinking that can restore the world’s ecosystems.

JUA June was born from a love for fashion and a passion for nature and the environment. It was not until extensive research into fashion and the industry in general was done until it was realized how damaging and wasteful the fashion industry really is. Besides horror stories from factory workers not earning fair wages and working under horrible conditions, the manufacturing process also often comes with dumping toxic chemicals and mass production results in a lot of waste. Once items reach consumers, clothing is often only worn for a season or short time, and with fast fashion and social media it becomes easy to buy a cheap dress and wear it only once, resulting in even more waste.

Clothing often ends up in landfill where it can take many years before it breaks down, if it even does as it depends on the type of fabric and materials used. Then we have not even mentioned luxury brands yet- who often burn or destroy stock as they want to keep their brand exclusive and not sell it at a discounted price to protect the brands image.

As we are at a crucial stage with the environment and our planet, where we do not have much time left to reverse the damage done and protect what is left- we always want to incorporate sustainability into our brand and company as a whole. At JUA June, we create only small collections so we do not end up with 'dead' stock or excessive stock. All our materials are sustainable and made of recycled materials, and each year we are focusing on improving and innovating our brand. With our production in the UK, we ensure fair wages and treatment of garment workers and sustainable production.
